Fan Q&A!

August 2nd, 2010

Thanks to everyone who’s been sending in their fan questions over the past week! It’s been a pleasure to answer them so far…keep ‘em coming and we’ll post the new ones too.

Here’s the answers so far. Click “Read More” to see the full list

Q: How did you like your first CMAfest? You rocked and loved meeting you guys!

A: We loved it! It was fantastic to see so many other international artists playing great country music in Nashville, including a few fellow europeans, our favourites were The European Highwaymen, check them out!

Q: How did you come up with the name, “Heartsets”? What does it mean?
A: We were all hanging out at a band meeting when….. the song ‘HEARTSET’ by Ritch Spence randomly started to play in the background, I guess it was the right song at the right time, that’s how we became Emma King and the ‘Heartsets’. The song was just a play on words – having your heart set on something, which seemed to suit us as we were such an ambitious band! it’s such a cool song you should check it out: www.myspace.com/ritchspence

Q: Will you ever do another show at Northwest High? I hope so!!!
A: We really enjoy playing schools and colleges, Northwest high was our first school show we played so we will definitely be heading back to see you guys again! Hope you enjoyed the prom!

Q: did Dr. Dave sign you guys?? or was it someone else… just curious.
A: We are signed to PLC records!

Q: What is Ian Harrison’s favourite sandwich filling?
A: couldn’t choose, probably BLT :p for the adventurous amongst you, try bacon avocado and houmus, they all work together like a dream.

Q: any of you thinking of working on side projects, or already doing so?
A: No, Emma King and the Heartsets is our only goal…we’re not thinking about anything else at the moment – 100% effort goes into this group from everyone involved

Q: What big country artist/band would you like to tour with and why ?
A: Miranda Lambert. She knows how to rock it up live!

Q: If you could meet anybody (past or present), who would it be?
A: Beethoven, Stephen Fry, Martin Luther King, George Orwell, Leo Tolstoy, Eddie Izzard, Andy Fraser….and many more suggestions from the whole band……….!

Q: how was the troopaid show in iowa?
A: Fantastic thank you! Great to be seeing some more of The States. There was a lot of charity money raised and the organisers were lovely and hospitable….cool couple of days

Q: What’s your guilty pleasure?
A: Emma says “Chocolate! All the way!”

Q: Who or what are your major influences?
A: Alan Jackson, Annie Lennox, Bette Middler, Patsy Cline, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, The Wildhearts, Free, Elvis, Slash, Brad Paisley, Queen, Bonnie Rait, The Eagles, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, Alkaline Trio, DJ Shadow, Bloc Party……..
